 Beef Curry Recipe



Ingredients:


- 1 kg stewing beef

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 1 tsp minced garlic

- 1 cup plain yogurt

- 1 tbsp tomato paste

- 1 tsp mild curry powder

- 1 tsp curry paste

- ¼ cup Cape Malay curry cook-in sauce

- Salt and pepper, to taste

- 1 cup water


Method:


1. Marinate the beef with curry paste and plain yogurt for 2 hours.


2. Heat oil in a large pot. Add the chopped onions, minced garlic, curry powder, and paprika. Stir and cook until the onions are soft.


3. Add the marinated beef to the pot. Stir over medium-high heat for a few minutes.


4. Pour in 1 cup of water and cover the pot with a lid. Stir occasionally.


5. Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes.


6. After 30 minutes, add the tomato paste and Cape Malay curry cook-in sauce. Stir well and cook for a few more minutes or until the beef is cooked through.


7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.


8. Serve hot with rice or bread.
