Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  8. Cool: Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Prepare Crinkle Topping: Once the cakes are completely cool, sprinkle the tops with powdered sugar to create the crinkle effect.
