Crockpot Barbecue Ribs Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups barbecue sauce
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 4 to 5 pounds baby back ribs
Instructions:
1. Preparation:
- In a zip-top bag, pour the barbecue sauce.
- Add brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper if desired.
- Close the bag securely and use your hands to knead the bag, mixing the sauce ingredients thoroughly.
2. Cooking:
- Place the baby back ribs in the crockpot.
- Pour the prepared barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
3. Finishing:
- Once the ribs are cooked, carefully transfer them to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- Preheat the broiler in your oven.
- Brush the ribs with additional barbecue sauce from the crockpot.
- Place the ribs under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.
4. Serving:
- Serve the crockpot barbecue ribs hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
- Enjoy these fall-apart tender ribs with your favorite side dishes for a delicious and satisfying meal!
Note:
The slow cooking process in the crockpot breaks down the connective tissue in the meat, resulting in tender and flavorful ribs. Brushing them with barbecue sauce and broiling them for a few minutes adds a caramelized glaze that enhances their taste. Optional cayenne pepper adds a spicy kick for those who enjoy extra heat.
