Louisiana Pecan Pralines Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. butter
  • 4 cups white sugar
  • 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups pecans

Instructions:

  1. In a heavy 5-quart pot, combine butter, milk, and sugar.
  2. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture boils.
  3. Continue stirring continuously until the mixture reaches the "soft ball stage." Avoid cooking on high heat.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly while stirring until the mixture loses its glossy appearance.
  5. Add pecans and stir until the mixture starts to thicken.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto foil or waxed paper for cooling.
