Louisiana Pecan Pralines Recipe
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. butter
- 4 cups white sugar
- 12 oz. can evaporated milk
- 2 cups pecans
Instructions:
- In a heavy 5-quart pot, combine butter, milk, and sugar.
- Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture boils.
- Continue stirring continuously until the mixture reaches the "soft ball stage." Avoid cooking on high heat.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it cool slightly while stirring until the mixture loses its glossy appearance.
- Add pecans and stir until the mixture starts to thicken.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto foil or waxed paper for cooling.
